Artificial Insemination

Autumn is my forever goat.  Shes a sweetheart. Well bred and gorgeous.  Honestly, all that wouldnt even matter.  Shes my girl..  best friend in goat form.  
 My goal with Autumn has always been to breed her to CA Blackberry's Count Luna... line breeding on Nubian goat royalty.  At least in my book.  Yes, I'm a nerd! Who talks goats like this?  I do!   
    Back to Autumn...  in order to get her bred to Count, I'd have to AI her.  This would be the year I swung for the fences and see what happens.  The insemination went perfectly.. and then begun the waiting game.  Would she settle?  Let me tell ya, waiting 27 days to test her was horrible!  Come day 25 I couldnt wait any longer... was she? wasnt she?  Knowing I was too early.. would I waste a test and get a negative result anyways?  I knew that would be worse than just waiting the additional 2 days.  I'm not a patient girl, of course I tested! 
There it was.. an ever so faint line!   Autumn was pregnant!  OH MY GOSH!  We are expecting the absoulte best breeding for Autumn!  I'd say it's the most anticipated breeding EVER, but with AI, I have the ability to match each doe to a buck who best compliments her.   Thats whats so wonderful about AI.  I have access to bucks from all over the country, and bucks who are otherwise unavailable to me.. 
  Oh and that faint test.. was confirmed by ultrasound at day 31.  All signs point to a healthy pregnancy!
